DevOps Lead

About the role

An experienced DevOps Lead is sought to lead and support DevOps automation, CI/CD, containerization and cloud-native infrastructure initiatives. The role is based in Sydney, with a 5-day-a-week office presence, and requires an active security clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation and maintenance of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop and manage automation solutions using Ansible.
• Design, configure and optimize Jenkins pipelines for continuous integration and deployment.
• Build and maintain CI/CD workflows using Azure Pipelines and Azure DevOps.
• Manage source code repositories, branching strategies and version control using Git.
• Implement and manage containerized applications with Docker.
• Deploy, manage and troubleshoot applications and workloads on Kubernetes environments.
• Automate infrastructure and application deployment to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, security and operations teams to ensure smooth application delivery.
• Identify improvements to deployment processes, automation, scalability and system reliability.
• Troubleshoot CI/CD, deployment, containerization and infrastructure issues.
• Mentor and guide DevOps team members and follow security, compliance and organizational standards.

Required profile

• Proven hands-on experience in DevOps, CI/CD, automation and cloud-native technologies.
• Proven experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Experience in a technical leadership or DevOps Lead capacity.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot complex technical issues and strong scripting and automation mindset.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Active security clearance is mandatory; candidates able to join immediately or within a week are preferred.

Required skills

• Mandatory: Ansible, Jenkins, Azure Pipelines, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Good to have: Apache Kafka, Azure DevOps, cloud-native architecture, monitoring and logging in containerized environments.
