Desktop Support Technician – ASO3 Level

About the role

The Desktop Support Technician provides installation, maintenance and support for end‑user devices across the South Australian Police (SAPOL) Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) Service. Working in a dynamic ICT environment, you will help ensure that staff have reliable access to desktops, laptops, peripherals, licensed applications and mobile devices.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and troubleshoot desktop and laptop computers, printers, scanners and other peripherals.
• Support licensed software applications and mobile devices used by SAPOL personnel.
• Collaborate with the Customer Service Branch team to deliver high‑quality IS&T services.
• Participate in out‑of‑hours support, intra‑state travel and the iEngage program as required.
• Assist with other duties at the same remuneration level when needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience maintaining desktop hardware, software and peripheral devices.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies in a changing environment.
• Understanding of ITIL and/or SDLC principles with hands‑on service‑management experience.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to diverse users.
• Australian work eligibility and willingness to undergo a criminal history check.
