Desktop Support Officer – Onsite IT Support

About the role

The Desktop Support Officer provides on‑site IT assistance to staff and students across the Australian National University. You will diagnose and resolve hardware, software and connectivity problems while maintaining a high level of customer service in a dynamic campus environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver face‑to‑face technical support for desktops, laptops, printers and peripheral devices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software and operating system issues.
• Identify and fix network connectivity problems for end‑users.
• Maintain and manage the university’s desktop computing environment.
• Collaborate with other Information Technology Services teams to ensure reliable technology for teaching, research and administration.
• Move between multiple campus buildings to provide timely assistance.

• Proactive, adaptable and organised, able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal skills for building positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

What we offer

• Annual salary range $89,760 – $105,459 plus 17 % superannuation.
• Full‑time, continuing position classified at ANU Officer Grade 5/6.
