Design Manager – Water Infrastructure

About the role

AECOM is expanding its Water Infrastructure group in Australia and New Zealand and is seeking a Design Manager to join the Sydney office. The role leads multidisciplinary design teams, works closely with clients and contractors, and ensures delivery of high‑quality water and wastewater projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead overall design delivery and make final design decisions for water infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring projects meet quality, time and budget constraints.
• Collaborate with ANZ leadership on project resourcing, business initiatives and delivery of design‑and‑construct solutions.

Required profile

• Proven track record delivering projects on time, within budget and to high quality standards.
• Experience in design management for water infrastructure, including pumps, pipes or treatment systems.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across contractors, clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Water infrastructure design knowledge (pumps, pipelines, treatment systems).
