Design Manager

About the role

BESIX Watpac is seeking a Design Manager to join its Queensland, Northern Territory and New Zealand construction team. The role is pivotal in delivering high‑quality design outcomes for large‑scale D&C projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage consultants to deliver design documentation on time, on budget and in line with the Project Brief.
• Review project design for regulatory and building compliance.
• Assess constructability with construction teams and subcontractors to drive delivery efficiencies.
• Participate in methodology development for project delivery.
• Maintain design quality control management.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering.
• Experience delivering large‑scale D&C building projects from commencement to completion with a principal contractor.
• Proven ability to collaborate with external consultants for optimal project outcomes.
• Demonstrated success in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
