Design Delivery Manager - Power Infrastructure

About the role

Fyfe, an Australian multidisciplinary consultancy covering engineering, environment, planning and surveying, is looking for a Design Delivery Manager for its Power Infrastructure business in Sydney. The role leads Design Managers, Project Managers and multidisciplinary technical teams, guiding major water and transport infrastructure projects from design planning through to delivery, while strengthening client partnerships and growing the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Design Managers, Project Managers and multidisciplinary technical teams, with clear accountability for design and delivery outcomes.
• Guide major water and transport infrastructure projects from scope definition and design planning through coordination, technical assurance and issue resolution.
• Identify design constraints, delivery risks, resourcing pressures and commercial issues early to protect portfolio performance.
• Act as a senior point of contact for key clients, supporting new opportunities, tenders and growth strategies.
• Apply disciplined forecasting, invoicing, margin management, scope control and commercial governance.
• Recruit, develop and retain talent, mentoring emerging leaders and building capability across delivery teams.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years' experience in electrical design and delivery within water, transport or industrial infrastructure.
• Proven track record managing large-scale, complex projects and leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Australian citizenship, permanent residency or full Australian working rights; agency applications are not accepted.

Required skills

• Commercial acumen: contract administration, risk management, financial forecasting, project economics and margin performance.
• Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies, systems and tools.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management, able to influence senior leaders and external clients.
