Design Assistant – Fashion & Accessories

About the role

Bydee is seeking a Design Assistant to support its swimwear, jewellery and ready-to-wear collections. The role will work closely with senior designers and cross-functional teams to bring design concepts to production.

Key responsibilities

• Create and update CAD files, technical sketches, artwork briefs and design packs following senior designer handovers.
• Prepare hardware briefs and assist in designing custom trims.
• Maintain seasonal range pages, CAD libraries, design files and sample libraries.
• Support print and strike-off reviews, documenting comments for senior designer approval.
• Assist with meeting preparation, note-taking and communicating design updates to suppliers and internal teams.
• Source reference imagery, help create mood boards and sourcing briefs for emerging trends.
• Collaborate with Design, Product Development and Production teams to ensure timely delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum one year of experience in a Design Assistant or similar fashion design role.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
• Strong CAD and technical sketching abilities with high attention to detail.
• Interest in garment construction, fabrics, trims, prints and production processes.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Qualification in Fashion Design, Textiles or a related discipline is preferred.
