Deputy Principal – School Improvement & Daily Operations

About the role

The Deputy Principal (Band B‑4) at Hendon Primary School will lead school‑wide improvement initiatives and manage the day‑to‑day operations of the campus. Reporting to the Principal, the role supports the delivery of high‑quality teaching and learning while ensuring a safe, inclusive environment for students and staff. Flexible and part‑time arrangements are considered.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic improvement plans to raise student outcomes.
• Oversee daily school operations, including timetabling, resource allocation and facilities management.
• Support the Principal in leading staff, conducting performance appraisals and professional development.
• Ensure compliance with state education policies, health and safety regulations.
• Foster strong relationships with parents, the local community and education partners.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with a current teaching registration.
• Significant experience in senior leadership within a primary school setting.
• Demonstrated success in leading school improvement and operational management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
