Deputy CEO – Re‑advertised (Port Augusta)

About the role

The Deputy CEO will support the Executive Chief Officer in leading the Pika Wiya Health Service, providing strategic advice and overseeing day‑to‑day operations across comprehensive primary health care in Port Augusta.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑level strategic advice to the CEO on initiatives, programs and external environmental changes.
• Support financial, administrative and human‑resource management, ensuring compliance with awards and agreements.
• Develop and strengthen staff knowledge and capacity on programme reporting and service delivery.
• Liaise with Aboriginal communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to promote and align health services.
• Represent the organisation in senior meetings with local, state and Commonwealth bodies.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years experience in comprehensive primary health care, preferably with local content knowledge of Port Augusta.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage senior staff and cross‑agency relationships.
• Willingness to work out‑of‑hours, travel intra‑ and interstate (including light‑aircraft travel) and hold a current SA driver’s licence.
• Ability to obtain and maintain National Police, Working with Children and Aged Care checks.
