Depot Leader - Mt Piper

About the role

Flyash Australia, a joint venture between Boral and Cement Australia, is looking for a Depot Leader to join its team at Mt Piper. Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead a small team of 4-5 people and own the day-to-day operations of the depot, covering fly ash processing, plant performance, safety, quality and team development. It is a hands-on leadership role driving a Zero Harm culture and ensuring the depot meets its volume, quality and cost targets.

This is a permanent, full-time day-shift role (Monday to Friday) with reasonable additional hours as required, with an immediate start available.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a small team across all day-to-day depot operations
• Drive a strong safety culture through visible leadership and compliance with site safety systems and procedures
• Handle rostering
• Oversee plant operations, performance and maintenance activities
• Maintain quality systems so the product meets required standards
• Manage operational costs and contribute to budget planning
• Build relationships with key stakeholders such as power station personnel, customers and contractors
• Mentor and develop the team to build capability and maintain high standards

Required profile

• Supervisory or team leadership experience in an industrial, manufacturing, mining or heavy industry environment
• A trade background is preferred but not essential; the ability to lead a team and run a safe, efficient operation is most important
• Genuine commitment to safety and experience in structured safety management systems
• Strong organisational and communication skills, able to manage competing priorities
• Experience with plant operations and maintenance planning
• Construction white card and a current driver's licence (mandatory)
• Working at heights, confined spaces and forklift licences are desirable; training can be provided

Required skills

• Proficiency with maintenance management systems (e.g. MEX or similar) is an advantage
