Dental Assistant (Part‑time) – Cairns

About the role

Join the 1300SMILES Cairns Central team as a part‑time Dental Assistant. You will provide chair‑side support across a broad range of dental treatments, ensuring smooth appointments and a well‑organised clinical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist dentists chair‑side during general, preventative, cosmetic, orthodontic and emergency procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and equipment for each appointment.
• Clean, sterilise and maintain instruments in line with infection‑control standards.
• Keep clinical areas tidy, stocked and ready for use.
• Support patients to feel comfortable throughout their visit.

Required profile

• Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting, or minimum two years of dental assisting experience.
• Strong knowledge of sterilisation and infection‑control procedures.
• Familiarity with dental terminology, procedures and practice software.
• Calm, friendly approach with good attention to detail.
