Defence & Intelligence Technical Leader – Mission Software Solutions

About the role

Leidos Australia is seeking experienced Technical and Engineering Leaders to drive the design, development and sustainment of complex Defence and Intelligence systems across Canberra and Melbourne. You will shape technical strategy, build high‑performing multidisciplinary teams and deliver secure, mission‑critical capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of software, cloud, cyber, ICT and mission‑focused technologies for Defence and Intelligence programmes.
• Build, mentor and develop multidisciplinary teams covering engineering, software development, infrastructure, cloud, testing, automation, AI and data.
• Collaborate with Defence customers and program leaders to translate operational challenges into secure, scalable solutions.
• Provide technical leadership for emerging and established programmes, influencing capability roadmaps and delivery approaches.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading diverse technical teams through complex, secure environments.
• Deep expertise in at least one Defence/Intelligence domain such as mission systems, cyber, cloud, ICT or geospatial.
• Australian citizenship with an existing NV1 security clearance and ability to obtain TSPV.
• Strong ability to mentor, develop future leaders and create high‑performance team cultures.
