Data Integration Engineer

About the role

The Data Integration Engineer will enable trusted, high‑quality data across Leidos by designing and delivering scalable integration solutions that connect systems, platforms and business functions. You will work closely with architects, engineers, analysts and stakeholders to ensure data is accessible, reliable and fit for decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines integrating data across enterprise applications, databases, cloud platforms, data warehouses and analytics environments.
• Develop reusable integration frameworks, transformation logic, validation processes and monitoring capabilities to improve data quality and operational efficiency.
• Support new business initiatives, system implementations, data migrations and platform upgrades with secure, scalable integration solutions.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements into practical outcomes, contributing to testing, automation, CI/CD and continuous improvement of the data platform.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data integration, ETL/ELT development or data engineering.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, relational databases, data warehouses or data lake environments.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
• Ability to communicate clearly with a range of stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions.

Required skills

• Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, AWS Glue, Informatica, Snowflake, SSIS, Talend, Redshift, BigQuery.
• Programming/scripting languages: Python, SQL, PySpark, Java.
• Integration across APIs, web services and common data formats (JSON, XML, CSV, Parquet, Avro).
• Knowledge of Apache Spark, dbt, Kafka, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
