Data Entry Operator - State Election Project

About the role

HOBAN Recruitment is recruiting a Data Entry Operator for a major State Election project in Port Melbourne. You will enter data from ballot papers and election documentation into specialised systems, supporting accurate and efficient processing of election results in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The assignment runs from 9 November to 14 December.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately enter election data into specialised systems
• Process information in line with VEC procedures and guidelines
• Maintain a high level of accuracy with large volumes of data and meet productivity and quality targets
• Handle sensitive election information with confidentiality
• Report data discrepancies or issues when required
• Use specialised software and in-house systems and follow VEC policies, procedures and security requirements
• Support other operational tasks as directed

Required profile

• Previous experience in data entry, administration or processing environments
• Fast and accurate keyboard skills, ideally 7,000-10,000 keystrokes per hour
• Ability to pass an alphanumerical data entry test
• Attention to detail, strong literacy and numeracy, and ability to follow instructions
• Professional, reliable and confidential approach

The role involves sitting for long periods and working in a high-volume environment during peak periods. There is no parking at the site; a free shuttle bus runs between Southern Cross Station and the venue for every shift, outside rostered hours and unpaid.
