Data Engineer (NV1 Clearance Required)

About the role

Emanate Technology is recruiting a Data Engineer for an Australian defence technology organisation delivering data, software and engineering solutions in secure, highly regulated environments. The role designs, builds and supports scalable data platforms and pipelines that underpin analytics, software applications and business-critical capabilities, working with software engineers, systems engineers, architects and stakeholders. The position requires an NV1 security clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop robust data solutions covering data ingestion, transformation, storage and delivery across a variety of environments
• Build and maintain ETL, ELT or data integration pipelines
• Contribute to platform performance, reliability and continuous improvement initiatives
• Work in multidisciplinary engineering teams on complex technical solutions

Required profile

• Experience developing and supporting data engineering solutions in production environments
• Experience with distributed data processing technologies such as PySpark
• Experience with Agile or modern software development environments
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance

Required skills

• Strong Python development skills
• Strong SQL and relational database experience
• Data modelling, architecture and management principles
• Data quality, validation and cleansing techniques
• Desirable: Docker, Kubernetes and cloud-based data platforms
