Data Engineer

About the role

Join Nine’s Product and Technology data team to turn data into a competitive advantage. You will design and operate large‑scale data pipelines on Google Cloud, enabling stakeholders to access reliable, consumption‑focused data products.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain petabyte‑scale data pipelines using Google Cloud, Apache Airflow, dbt and BigQuery.
• Create dimensional data models and visualisations that serve reporting specialists, analysts and power users.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering teams, vendors and business stakeholders to continuously improve data products and processes.
• Research emerging technologies and industry trends, proposing experiments and innovations.
• Stay current with media and technology developments and ensure solutions use the latest tools.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer with strong SQL and Python skills on a cloud platform.
• Hands‑on experience building Airflow DAGs and data processing frameworks.
• Familiarity with data analytics and reporting tools such as Tableau and Data Studio.
• Ability to work in agile development cycles and deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Solid understanding of database design, CI/CD pipelines and version‑control systems (GitHub or Bitbucket).
