Data Center Technician (Canberra)

About the role

As a Microsoft Data Center Technician you will stage, set up and perform hardware deployments in a Canberra data‑center. The role offers hands‑on experience with Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure and provides opportunities to develop mentoring skills while following strict safety and operational procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures, quickly identifying causes of issues and replacing faulty components with minimal disruption.
• Conduct post‑execution quality checks to ensure grounding, staging, labeling and cabling meet safety protocols, deployment standards and network design tasks.
• Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes such as memory upgrades or rebuilds, following standard procedures with minimal guidance.
• Communicate, report and escalate incidents to Microsoft data‑center operations management, Technician Leads and engineering specialists.
• Assist and provide guidance to other technicians as needed.
