Job description

About the role

EY is looking for a Data & Analytics Test Lead to provide strategic leadership, governance and execution oversight for testing across a significant Data & Analytics program for a key insurance client. The role ensures reliable and trusted data products across data platforms, pipelines, business intelligence and analytics solutions, regulatory reporting and cloud-based environments. It is based in Melbourne or Sydney and is a hybrid position.

Key responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the Quality and Test Strategy across ETL, data warehousing, business intelligence, analytics and cloud data services.
  • Lead planning, design, execution and reporting for functional, integration, regression, automation, performance and non-functional testing.
  • Oversee end-to-end validation of data pipelines, transformations, models and APIs.
  • Establish data-quality controls covering profiling, reconciliation, anomaly detection and cleansing.
  • Partner with data governance teams to embed quality assurance across metadata, lineage and data-management practices.
  • Coordinate test readiness across environments, test data, tooling and licences.
  • Design test cases and automation scripts and expand automation where possible.
  • Manage test execution, defect reporting and triage, and support resolution with delivery teams.
  • Support regulatory reporting readiness through quality gates, traceability and test evidence.
  • Prepare test reports, metrics, quality risks and status updates, support test sign-off and closure, and lead distributed testing teams.

Required profile

  • Demonstrated experience in the insurance industry.
  • Strong internal and external stakeholder management.
  • Expertise testing data warehousing, ETL, business intelligence, analytical platforms and large-scale data pipelines.
  • Ability to lead distributed teams and articulate quality risks to technical and business audiences.
  • Ideally: exposure to regulatory data programs, Tosca DI, advanced analytics and machine learning model testing, master data management testing, and ETL tools such as Informatica, SSIS, SAP Data Services, AWS Glue or Azure Data Factory.

Required skills

  • Strong SQL and/or Python for data validation, profiling and automation.
  • At least one cloud platform: GCP, AWS or Azure.
  • At least one reporting tool such as Cognos, Power BI or Tableau, with workable knowledge of the others.
  • Test-management tools such as Jira, Xray or Zephyr.
  • Understanding of data governance, metadata, lineage and regulatory reporting.

What we offer

  • Career development and flexible work arrangements.
  • A benefits package including a yearly wellness incentive, an additional eight weeks of flex leave per year and up to 26 weeks of gender-neutral paid parental leave.
  • Competitive salary open to negotiation depending on skills and experience.
