Cyber Security Analyst

About the role

The Cyber Security Analyst will report to the Cyber Security Manager and play a pivotal role in protecting critical systems, digital services and information assets for a national public‑sector organisation. You will monitor, analyse and respond to cyber threats while supporting the implementation of security controls across cloud, identity, endpoint and application environments.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to security alerts, incidents and vulnerabilities across cloud, identity, endpoint and network environments.
• Administer and continuously improve Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 and associated security technologies.
• Support security risk assessments, compliance activities, audits and the implementation of controls aligned with government and industry frameworks.
• Assist with cyber incident response, including investigation, containment, recovery, reporting and lessons‑learned.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to strengthen the organisation’s security posture and governance.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in a cyber security role with strong focus on the Microsoft security stack.
• Hands‑on experience securing and administering Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Solid understanding of cyber security frameworks such as Essential Eight, ISM, NIST, ISO 27001 and cloud security benchmarks.
• Proven ability to investigate alerts, respond to incidents, conduct threat analysis and support remediation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills, able to translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.
