Customer Service Officer

About the role

The City of Rockingham is seeking a friendly and dynamic Customer Service Officer to join its award‑winning local government team. You will be the first point of contact for a wide range of community enquiries, delivering advice and solutions both over the phone and face‑to‑face.

Key responsibilities

• Answer inbound calls in the contact centre and greet visitors in person.
• Provide accurate information, troubleshoot issues and direct enquiries to the appropriate department.
• Process payments efficiently via counter, online and mail channels.
• Maintain accurate records of interactions and transactions.
• Support the delivery of high‑quality community services and events.

Required profile

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, stay calm under pressure and manage competing priorities.
• Previous experience in a customer‑service environment, preferably in a contact centre or face‑to‑face setting.
• Tech‑savvy with basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn new systems.
