Customer Engagement Lead (ANZ)

About the role

Bayer is seeking a Customer Engagement Lead for Australia and New Zealand to drive strategic, customer‑centric engagement and sales excellence across the pharma portfolio. Reporting into the Bayer Pharma leadership team, you will shape how the field organization connects with customers, ensuring high‑impact outcomes and sustainable capability building.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a team of sales representatives to deliver high‑impact, customer‑centric engagement strategies.
• Align field execution with business priorities to achieve strong commercial and customer results.
• Act as Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, and Coach, elevating team capability and performance.
• Build capabilities across all customer‑facing roles, including Medical Science Liaisons.
• Promote enterprise thinking and align actions with affiliate and regional priorities.
• Adapt quickly to market dynamics, fostering resilience and continuous learning.
• Drive agile, cross‑functional collaboration with Commercial, Medical, and Market Access teams.
• Develop and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
• Leverage data, insights, and digital tools to optimise engagement strategies.
• Lead change initiatives in a collaborative, empowering manner.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading high‑performing teams, preferably in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or customer‑engagement environments.
• Strong understanding of customer‑engagement strategy and field execution excellence.
• Demonstrated ability to build capabilities across diverse customer‑facing roles.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and drive continuous improvement.
