Crane Technician

About the role

DOF, a provider of integrated marine and subsea services to the offshore energy market, is looking for a Crane Technician. The role works on DOF's Subsea, Anchor Handling Tug Supply and Platform Supply vessels, keeping the crane and lifting gear maintained as appointed by the Chief Engineer so that operations remain safe and efficient. The position is based offshore in Australian waters, with occasional international opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the crane and lifting gear on DOF vessels as appointed by the Chief Engineer or their substitute.
• Ensure safe and efficient operations for clients across the fleet.

Required profile

• Proven experience on Subsea projects or in the Offshore Oil & Gas industry.
• Certificate of Competency as Marine Engineer (STCW III/2); experience on vessels with Subsea AHC cranes is preferable.
• Valid AMSA/Norwegian or other offshore industry standard medical.
• Current or obtainable BOSIET-CAEBS certification and a current MISC are beneficial.
• Strong focus on health, safety and environmental practices.
• Adaptable and resilient, able to work remotely and manage offshore vessel demands.

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of lifting appliances and their maintenance programmes, including wire re-socketing, G5 theory, G11 banksman slinger and fault-finding courses.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
