Cost Management Surveyor

About the role

AECOM is seeking a senior Cost Management Surveyor to lead quantity surveying and cost management services for high‑profile infrastructure projects across Australia. The role combines strategic advisory, cost planning and team leadership within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cost planning, estimating, risk assessment and value engineering for major building services, MEP, data centre, healthcare and energy infrastructure projects.
• Provide high‑level strategic advice to clients to ensure optimal commercial outcomes and project success.
• Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering technical excellence and team growth.
• Drive business development by identifying opportunities, supporting bids and building client relationships.

Required profile

• Extensive experience as a Principal Quantity Surveyor or Senior Cost Manager in a consulting environment, with strong knowledge of Australian standards.
• Proven leadership in cost planning, procurement, construction‑phase cost management and client advisory services.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and professional accreditation (AIQS, RICS or equivalent).

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in CostX.
• Advanced use of the Microsoft Office suite.
