Conveyor Technician – Maintenance of Belt Scraper Systems

About the role

As a key member of the Maintenance team at Newmont’s Boddington operation, you will report to the Conveyor Supervisor and ensure the reliability and performance of conveyor belt scraper systems. Your work supports safe and efficient production through high‑quality inspections, maintenance, servicing and repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, installation, repair and servicing of conveyor belt scrapers and associated components.
• Conduct routine quality checks and inspections of conveyor belts to identify faults, wear and damage.
• Inspect, service, adjust and replace scraper blades and related equipment.
• Identify, report and rectify defects to ensure equipment meets required standards.
• Provide technical advice and hands‑on input into improvement initiatives to enhance conveyor performance.
• Support planned maintenance and shutdown activities, working collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety, quality and procedural requirements.

Required profile

• Prior experience as a Conveyor Scraper Technician, Conveyor Belt Technician or Mechanical Maintenance Fitter, preferably in a mining or heavy‑industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of conveyor belt systems and associated components, including belt cleaners, skirting systems and belt tracking.
• Proven experience performing routine inspections and completing maintenance reports.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with a practical, solutions‑focused approach.
