Controls Technician (BMS)

About the role

Automated Logic, now part of Carrier, is hiring a Controls Technician (BMS Technician) to commission, service and engineer building management system installations. The technician delivers high-quality systems in line with site specifications, statutory requirements and Automated Logic Australia standards, completing work on time and keeping customers satisfied.

Key responsibilities

• Provide service, preventative maintenance and commissioning of BMS/DDC control systems
• Configure, test and commission software, calibrate, diagnose faults, repair and carry out basic programming
• Follow directions from the Service Management / Operations team and coordinate field data and documents for them
• Support team members, installers and service agents, and help on site with critical jobs, installations, commissioning and troubleshooting
• Take part in safety toolbox talks and site meetings, complete job checklists and use PPE correctly
• Liaise with Service Group Administrators, follow up on alarmed calls and protect company equipment
• Initiate Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and participate in the on-call roster

Required profile

• Existing skills and experience in Building Management Systems
• Knowledge of HVAC/BMS systems is essential
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Pride in quality service, good customer relationships and excellent oral and written communication

Required skills

• Strong computer skills, including hardware setup, MS Office and databases
