Contracts Administrator / Quantity Surveyor – Brisbane

About the role

Silverstrand is looking for an experienced Contracts Administrator / Quantity Surveyor to join its Brisbane head office. You will manage cost and contractual matters across major infrastructure projects, ensuring commercial outcomes are achieved while supporting the project team on site.

Key responsibilities

• Manage project costs, revenues, claims and supplier agreements.
• Initiate, review, analyse and administer contract closing processes.
• Negotiate and manage head contracts and subcontractors to achieve optimal commercial results.
• Ensure delivered products comply with contract specifications and report any non‑conformances.
• Process payment schedules in line with the Security of Payment Act and approve subcontract progress payments.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, assist with construction claims and dispute resolution.
• Monitor changes during construction, assess cost impacts and negotiate variations.
• Attend site meetings and maintain strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Legal qualifications or experience in contract and commercial law (highly regarded).
• At least 3 years’ experience in major infrastructure projects, contract administration and claims management.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the COINS system.
