Consultant – Strategy & Operations in Mid-Market Advisory

About the role

KPMG is seeking a Consultant to join its Mid-Market & Private Consulting – Advisory, Strategy & Operations team in Melbourne. You will work on business transformation, risk & assurance, and technology outcomes for mid‑market clients, supporting them from strategy through execution.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver client engagements with support from peers and junior consultants under senior oversight.
• Coach and mentor junior practitioners, transferring knowledge and providing guidance.
• Apply master consulting skills such as storyboarding, workshop facilitation, business writing, critical thinking and structured problem solving.
• Manage projects effectively, prioritising and delivering high‑quality work for clients and internal teams.

Required profile

• Experience supporting strategic, transformation or operational improvement initiatives.
• Ability to gather and analyse qualitative and quantitative data to inform decisions.
• Capability in strategic planning, operating model design, business transformation and organisational improvement.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and experience preparing executive‑level presentations.
• Exposure to business development, proposal development and practice growth activities.
• Tertiary qualifications in commerce, business, economics, public policy, technology or related discipline.
