Consultant Emergency Medicine – Regional Referral Centre

About the role

The position is for a Consultant Emergency Physician at Geraldton Health Campus, a leading regional referral centre in Western Australia. You will deliver high‑level emergency care, manage critically ill patients, and contribute to clinical leadership, education and service development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist emergency medicine care in a busy regional Emergency Department.
• Lead clinical decision‑making, coordinate patient care, and supervise junior clinicians.
• Mentor Registrars, Resident Medical Officers and other junior staff.
• Participate in workforce development, medical education and service improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or equivalent.
• Unrestricted specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia in Emergency Medicine.
• Significant senior‑level Emergency Medicine experience in Australian settings.
• Strong leadership, communication and clinical judgement skills.

Required skills

• Advanced airway management.
• Procedural sedation.
• Trauma management.
• Central venous access.
• Fracture reduction and other emergency procedures.
