Construction Manager

About the role

Whittens, a family‑owned national civil construction contractor, is seeking a 2/1 FIFO Construction Manager to lead self‑perform civil infrastructure projects across Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee planning, execution and completion of civil infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Develop comprehensive project plans covering timelines, budgets and resource allocation.
• Monitor progress, adjust plans as needed and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections to uphold safety practices and mitigate risks.
• Manage and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Liaise with stakeholders to communicate status, address concerns and negotiate contractual agreements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management.
• 8+ years experience with a civil contractor overseeing self‑perform civil infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience on FIFO infrastructure projects.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Demonstrated safety and environmental leadership.
• Self‑starter with strong organisational and stakeholder management abilities.
