Construction Manager – $1B Mine Expansion

About the role

Glencore is seeking a Construction Manager to lead the delivery of the Black Star Open Cut (BSOC) Project, a $1B+ brownfield mine expansion in Mount Isa. The role starts in Brisbane and transitions to a FIFO/DIDO roster at Mount Isa during execution.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the overall construction strategy for the BSOC project.
• Plan, coordinate and manage all construction activities, ensuring alignment with scope, cost, schedule and quality targets.
• Lead multiple contractor teams within an active mining and processing environment.
• Maintain rigorous safety standards and ensure compliance with site regulations.
• Support commissioning activities and oversee handover to operations.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale construction projects in the mining sector.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex contractor workforces in a live operational setting.
• Strong understanding of safety, quality and environmental requirements in mining environments.
• Willingness to work FIFO/DIDO arrangements and relocate to Mount Isa as needed.
