Conference & Events Operations Manager

About the role

This fast‑paced, influential position leads the day‑to‑day delivery of conferences, meetings and events at a premier resort undergoing a $20 million refurbishment. You will ensure every experience, from intimate gatherings to large‑scale events of up to 1,400 guests, is executed seamlessly.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee successful delivery of conferences, meetings and events while maintaining exceptional service standards.
• Lead, coach and motivate the Events Operations team to achieve outstanding guest experiences.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Food & Beverage and operational teams to ensure seamless coordination from planning through execution.
• Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders throughout the event lifecycle.
• Manage rostering, labour costs and operational efficiency to meet business objectives.
• Identify continuous‑improvement opportunities across event operations and service delivery.
• Ensure a safe, professional and positive working environment for the team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in conference and events operations within a hotel, resort or large‑scale venue.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop and support a high‑performing team.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple events and competing priorities.
• Proactive approach with exceptional attention to detail and commitment to service excellence.
• Confident communication skills for effective engagement with clients, guests and internal stakeholders.
• Commercial awareness with experience managing labour, costs and operational performance.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
