Concrete Plant Manager

About the role

Heidelberg Materials is recruiting a Concrete Plant Manager for its Dandenong plant in Melbourne, leading the Concrete Operations team. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the role covers daily operations, safety, finances, team performance and customer relationships. It is a permanent full-time position, Monday to Friday, with weekend work as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations and make decisions affecting business performance, including sales, financial reporting and cost management within budget.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver the best possible outcomes for customers.
• Oversee and support all department activities, monitoring progress and performance and taking action to ensure department and business success.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, productivity and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safety culture across the plant.
• Lead and mentor plant personnel, providing training and development opportunities.

Required profile

• Ability to inspire and lead teams through change to achieve growth.
• Strong knowledge of HSE/OHS policies and legislation.
• Project management skills focused on high-quality results.
• Team player able to multi-task and make quick decisions under pressure, highly resilient and adaptable.
• Natural problem solver who enjoys planning.
