Complex Case Manager

About the role

Healthcare Australia is looking for a Complex Case Manager in Melbourne to lead and support a team of case managers who coordinate healthcare, mental health and wellbeing services for detainees under Residence Determination. The role oversees complex cases, gives guidance on clinical and wellbeing risks, coordinates care across multiple providers and ensures services meet Australian public health standards and regulatory requirements. It suits an experienced case management or healthcare professional who enjoys leadership and person-centred care.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of case managers in delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
• Oversee complex case assessments, triage and care planning, ensuring timely intervention and escalation of health risks.
• Coordinate primary care, mental health and specialist services, including crisis response and wellbeing initiatives.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, subcontractors and stakeholders to ensure continuity of care and positive health outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare standards and regulations, keeping accurate documentation, reporting and driving continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Social Work, Healthcare Management or a related field.
• At least five years' experience in case management, healthcare coordination or a related field.
• Experience managing complex cases and knowledge of the Australian public health system and relevant healthcare standards.
• Experience in immigration detention services is highly regarded.
