About the role
HammondCare, an independent Christian charity providing the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme funded by the Australian Government, is looking for volunteers to visit an older woman from Italy who lives in Eastgardens. She enjoys sharing stories, crocheting, cooking and staying connected with her Italian Catholic community. The visits are one-on-one companionship, lasting 30 minutes, and aim to reduce isolation and improve quality of life.
Key responsibilities
- Visit the resident weekly or fortnightly for 30-minute chats and conversation.
- Share stories and build a genuine friendship in a friendly, warm way.
- Visit between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Sunday, at a time that suits the volunteer.
Required profile
- 18 years or older.
- National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
- Availability for flexible times between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Sunday.
