About the role
HammondCare, an independent Christian charity supporting people to stay in their homes, offers warm, relaxed social visits to elderly clients living at home across the Central Coast (Woy Woy, Gosford, Wyong, Lake Haven and Wyee). The role is a friendly visit for a cuppa, a chat and some companionship, with no rush and no pressure.
Key responsibilities
- Visit an elderly client living at home for about an hour, once a week or every two weeks, between 9am and 5pm.
- Share a cuppa and have a friendly chat with a listening ear.
- Engage in light activities, tell stories or reminisce, giving the client a chance to connect and feel less alone.
- Commit to visits for 6 months or longer.
Required profile
- 18 years or older.
- National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
- Availability for visits Monday to Sunday, 9am to 5pm.
