Community and Stakeholder Engagement Advisor

About the role
Genus is seeking a Community and Stakeholder Engagement Advisor to support the Clean Energy Link North project. Reporting to the Community & Stakeholder Engagement Manager, you will act as the primary contact for residents, landholders, businesses and community groups, fostering positive relationships and ensuring transparent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Implement the project Stakeholder and Community Engagement Plans.
- Conduct face‑to‑face engagement activities such as community visits, door‑knocking campaigns and attendance at local events.
- Manage community enquiries and concerns, providing timely and accurate responses.
- Build and maintain relationships with landholders, residents, businesses and community groups.
- Adapt communication styles to diverse audiences and handle challenging conversations professionally.
- Attend community meetings, information sessions and site visits as required.
- Prepare communication materials including newsletters, fact sheets, emails and digital content.
- Capture project activities through photography and assist with communications.
- Maintain stakeholder databases, engagement records and reporting systems.
- Support complaint management, logging, tracking and issue resolution.
- Identify emerging community issues and escalate risks or sensitive matters.
Required profile
- Qualification in Community Development, Communications, Public Relations, Social Work or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations or a similar advisory role.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship‑management skills.
- Excellent organisational and time‑management capabilities with attention to detail.
- Proven experience handling sensitive issues and resolving stakeholder concerns professionally.
