Communications Officer – Council Marketing & Communications

About the role

The Communications Officer will join a high‑performing marketing and communications team delivering timely, accurate and engaging information to over 270,000 residents of the Northern Beaches. You will work across a broad range of council services and projects, creating content that keeps the community informed and connected.

Key responsibilities

• Support planning, delivery and evaluation of marketing and communications campaigns across paid, earned and owned channels.
• Write and edit news stories, website copy, social media posts and email marketing content for diverse audiences.
• Coordinate content approvals, schedules, database updates and reporting to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations.
• Design, optimise and analyse email marketing campaigns, using performance data to improve results.
• Build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships and support incident or emergency communications when required.
