Communications Coordinator

About the role

Planet Ark is seeking a proactive Communications Coordinator to support its environmental campaigns and stakeholder engagement. The role blends media relations, digital communications, content creation, and campaign delivery within a collaborative, purpose‑driven team.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Head of Communications and program managers to plan, develop, and evaluate communications for campaigns and organisational priorities.
• Create and manage content for newsletters, website, and social media channels, ensuring consistent brand voice.
• Drive earned media through press releases, case studies, interview coordination, and media outreach.
• Oversee day‑to‑day management of Planet Ark’s and National Tree Day’s social media, including content planning, publishing schedules, community interaction, performance monitoring, and optimisation of organic and paid campaigns.
• Support high‑profile environmental initiatives such as National Tree Day and National Recycling Week through communications execution and stakeholder reporting.
• Monitor media coverage, analyse campaign performance, and contribute to reporting for partners, sponsors, and ambassadors.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, media or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• Proven experience in communications, media relations, digital content creation, or campaign support.
• Strong storytelling ability and passion for environmental sustainability.
