Communications, Community and Stakeholder Manager

About the role

A recruiter is advertising a Communications, Community and Stakeholder Manager position for a client developing an innovative energy project with potential global application. The role leads communications, community engagement and stakeholder strategy across development and operational energy projects, building relationships with communities, government, landholders and Traditional Owner Groups. It is presented as an opportunity to build engagement strategy from inception, gain exposure to globally relevant innovation and shape corporate messaging and brand.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead stakeholder and community engagement strategies across projects, building strong relationships with landholders, local communities, government and other key stakeholders.
• Lead respectful and culturally appropriate engagement with Traditional Owner Groups, supporting cultural heritage processes and developing long-term relationships.
• Develop and manage corporate messaging, media relations and external communications, keeping a clear and consistent company narrative across channels.
• Develop and administer community benefit-sharing initiatives while monitoring community sentiment, social licence and emerging reputational risks.
• Maintain stakeholder engagement records and reporting systems so leadership can see engagement activity, community sentiment and key stakeholder risks.

Required profile

• 8-12+ years of experience in communications, community engagement and stakeholder management, ideally in energy, renewables or major infrastructure.
• Degree in communications, public relations, journalism or a related discipline.
• Proven media, public relations and corporate communications experience, including handling sensitive issues and communications with reputational impact.
• Experience engaging respectfully with Traditional Owner Groups and First Nations stakeholders, including exposure to cultural heritage or native title matters.
