Commercial Manager - AUKUS Defence Project

About the role

Laing O'Rourke, together with its joint venture partner Amentum Australia, is supporting the Australian Naval Infrastructure (ANI) programme to deliver the Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard (NPSCY) project at Osborne, South Australia. It is seeking a Commercial Manager to join its AUKUS team, based in Adelaide.

Key responsibilities

• Drive performance, margin and risk management.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, cost control and reporting.
• Manage commercial risk, change, claims, disputes and contract compliance.
• Build strong client, stakeholder and supply chain relationships.
• Develop and mentor a high-performing commercial team.
• Champion innovation and continuous improvement across project delivery.

Required profile

• Attained or working towards MRICS.
• Minimum 10 years of postgraduate experience in commercial within the construction industry.
• Degree in Construction Management, Building or Engineering, or equivalent.
• Australian citizenship, and ability to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance at NV1 level.

• Microsoft software, especially Excel.
