Commercial Business Partner

About the role

A global insurance leader is recruiting a Commercial Business Partner in Sydney (North Sydney) to support business performance across Australia and New Zealand. Reporting to the Head of Business Partnering, the role acts as a trusted advisor to the business and second-in-command within the team, partnering with senior leaders to influence decisions and shape the future direction of the finance function during a period of transformation. The position is hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior business leaders to provide commercial insights and strategic financial support.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and planning across designated business areas.
• Develop financial models and business cases for key commercial decisions and investments.
• Analyse business performance, identify trends and recommend actions.
• Deliver management reporting and variance analysis for executives.
• Support process improvement and reporting capability across the business.
• Work with stakeholders across finance and the wider organisation, and coach junior members of the business partnering team.

Required profile

• Experience in a Finance Business Partner, Commercial Finance or FP&A role.
• Ideally prior insurance experience or a strong understanding of insurance business drivers.
• Proven ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders.
• Curiosity about emerging technologies and a focus on continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Strong financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting.
• Advanced analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Experience using TM1.
