Commercial Assurance Analyst (Heavy Haulage, Transport & Freight)

About the role

A leading organisation is recruiting an experienced Commercial Assurance Analyst through Myndshift Group. The role protects company expenditure, improves cost transparency and ensures supplier and contractor invoices match contractual agreements, with a strong focus on transport invoices, contract rates and financial reporting. It is a contract-to-permanent position with Monday to Friday hours, based in Kewdale and Perth Airport.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate transport invoices against contractual agreements, approved rates and service records.
• Develop and maintain reports comparing contracted rates against actual invoiced rates.
• Analyse financial and operational data to find billing discrepancies, overcharges, duplicate invoices and unauthorised charges.
• Investigate unsupported costs, incorrect rate applications and potential contract non-compliance.
• Manage invoice queries and disputes with suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholders until resolved.
• Reconcile invoice data against transport activity, purchase orders and supporting documentation.
• Identify ways to recover costs, improve billing accuracy and strengthen commercial controls.
• Prepare clear reports and share findings, trends and recommendations with stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of invoice verification, reporting and commercial assurance processes.

Required profile

• Experience in commercial analysis, financial analysis, accounts payable assurance, cost control or a similar analytical role.
• Experience reviewing invoices against contracts, rate schedules or pricing structures.
• High accuracy and attention to detail, with a methodical approach to spotting discrepancies.
• Strong problem-solving and investigative skills, and good communication with suppliers, contractors and internal teams.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines; transport, logistics, freight or supply chain experience is highly regarded.

Required skills

• Strong Excel and data analysis skills, able to handle large datasets and build reports.
• Ability to manipulate large datasets and develop meaningful reports.
