Commercial Advisor (Claims and Risk)

About the role

Centorrino Technologies is seeking an experienced Commercial Advisor to provide specialist commercial and contractual support on a major rail infrastructure program in Brisbane. The role focuses on proactive management of claims, contractual entitlements, delay events, commercial risk and dispute avoidance to protect project timelines and budgets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead assessment and management of contractor delay notices, extensions of time (EOT) claims and cost claims under the DBM contract.
• Analyse entitlement, causation and quantum to support robust commercial decisions.
• Maintain contemporaneous records and contractual positions that protect client interests.
• Provide proactive advice on emerging commercial, schedule and cost risks.
• Develop commercial strategies, negotiation positions and risk‑mitigation initiatives.
• Prepare position papers, briefings and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with planning, engineering, interface and delivery teams to align outcomes with contractual obligations.
• Support resolution of complex commercial and contractual issues across the rail program.
• Undertake site visits to Ormeau and Torbanlea to support program delivery.

Required profile

• Degree in Business, Law, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience providing commercial advice on major rail infrastructure projects in Australia.
• At least 2 years’ experience on a major rolling‑stock delivery project.
• Demonstrated expertise in claims management, EOT assessments and commercial risk management.
• Strong understanding of contractual entitlement, causation and quantum analysis.
• Experience supporting government or large‑scale infrastructure clients.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
• Ability to start full‑time in August 2026.
