CNC Machinist

About the role

An established integrated engineering client in Sydney, working on projects across defence, aerospace, commercial marine and oil & gas, is looking for a CNC Machinist in Warriewood. The role sits within a small collaborative team where the work is varied, allowing skill development across workshop operations. It is a full-time, permanent position.

Key responsibilities

• Program, set up and operate various CNC machines to produce specialised metal components
• Read technical drawings and specifications
• Perform inspections to ensure conformance
• Review CAM-generated toolpaths and optimise cycle times
• Troubleshoot machine issues, tool wear and alarms
• Work with the production supervisor and staff to improve workflow
• Maintain tight tolerances
• Use precision measuring tools such as micrometres, vernier calipers and CMM equipment to verify accuracy and quality

Required profile

• Australian recognised trade qualification as a First-Class Machinist (preferred but not essential)
• CNC operator and programmer with over 3 years of experience (preferred but not essential)
• Full, unrestricted and ongoing rights to work in Australia

Required skills

• Preferred: SolidWorks programming experience
• Preferred: ESPRIT or similar programming experience
• Preferred: experience with DMG MORI 5-axis machines or similar

• Salary guide of $75,000 - $100,000 (including superannuation), negotiable
