Cloud Security Engineer

About the role

Join Sportsbet’s specialist cloud security team to make the AWS environment and developer ecosystem more secure. This engineering‑first position focuses on building automated security capabilities and embedding guardrails throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver automated products that provide security outcomes across AWS and the developer ecosystem.
• Enable development teams to embed security principles, guardrails and best practices from design through deployment.
• Partner with Cyber teams to understand threats, address weaknesses and strengthen security capabilities.
• Guide security‑focused solution decisions and risk mitigations while staying ahead of emerging cloud threats.
• Champion self‑service, automation, DevOps and operational practices for secure, scalable delivery.

Required profile

• Hands‑on engineer with a strong security mindset and curiosity for solving complex cloud challenges.
• Independent worker who questions the status quo and shares ideas across technology stakeholders.
• Customer‑first attitude, eager to learn new technologies and mentor others.

Required skills

• Proven development experience with Python or similar languages and automated testing.
• Extensive AWS experience, capable of designing and deploying scalable, reliable, secure applications.
• Solid understanding of cloud networking and core internet protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP).
• Experience or strong interest in cloud security domains such as vulnerability management, incident response, detection engineering or IAM.
• Strong technical documentation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
