Software Engineer

About the role

Pixel Pioneers is seeking a Software Engineer to help build innovative skill‑based and social gaming products. You will work closely with the Engineering Manager, turning product vision into strategy and guiding the engineering and design teams through delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, optimise, and maintain features across backend services and frontend frameworks using TypeScript, JavaScript, React or Vue.
• Navigate, refactor, and scale large existing codebases and monorepos efficiently.
• Leverage AI coding tools and agentic workflows to accelerate development while focusing on architectural challenges.
• Translate Figma designs into performant UI, smooth interactions, and browser‑based game experiences.
• Participate in daily Git workflows, peer code reviews, and squad‑based pair programming.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of commercial software engineering experience with rapid learning and solid fundamentals.
• Hands‑on daily experience with Git version control, pull requests, and peer reviews.
• Ability to work independently on tasks while collaborating effectively within small teams.
• Based in Perth and available to work in the office four days a week, with Friday remote flexibility.
