Cloud DevOps Engineer – Queensland Government Contract

About the role

The Queensland Government is seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer to help build the cloud foundations for next‑generation digital services and AI‑enabled products. This Brisbane‑based contract role will run until 31 December 2026 with the possibility of extension.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform on AWS.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling.
• Collaborate with architecture, security and engineering teams to enforce cloud best practices.
• Shape DevOps and DevSecOps standards across the organisation.
• Support the delivery of AI‑enabled services and modern platform technologies.

Required profile

• Strong experience in AWS cloud engineering.
• Proven expertise with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Hands‑on experience building CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Familiarity with GitHub, GitOps and DevSecOps practices.
• Python and/or Bash scripting skills.
• Solid understanding of networking, security and cloud operations.
• Ability to work with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
