Clinical Pharmacist

About the role

The Royal Melbourne Hospital is seeking Clinical Pharmacists to join a forward‑looking pharmacy department. You will work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred medication management across a range of clinical specialties.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence‑based clinical pharmacy services in line with SHPA guidelines, legislation and hospital policies.
• Participate in ward rounds, multidisciplinary meetings, discharge planning and continuity of care for both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Conduct medication reviews, reconciliations, counselling and patient education to optimise medication safety.
• Support medicines distribution activities including dispensing, stock control, controlled drug management and sterile production.
• Engage in quality‑improvement, audit and risk‑management initiatives.
• Supervise and train pharmacy students, interns and junior staff while maintaining your own professional development.
• Contribute to research, service development and evidence‑based practice through audits, projects or publications.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist with AHPRA.
• Proven experience delivering clinical pharmacy services.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Post‑graduate qualification desirable.
• Either completed or progressing through a pharmacy residency program, or able to demonstrate equivalent competence.
