Clinical Nurse (Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs)

About the role

We are seeking a Clinical Nurse to join the Gladstone Integrated Service, delivering specialised mental health and alcohol‑and‑other‑drugs (AOD) care to the community. The role involves comprehensive assessment, planning and therapeutic interventions for adult clients across a range of settings.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct mental state and risk assessments and develop individualised care plans.
• Provide therapy interventions, case management and health‑promotion activities.
• Offer early identification and intervention, liaison with multidisciplinary teams and education to patients and staff.
• Collect and analyse clinical indicators to support service development and quality improvement.
• Apply a bio‑psycho‑social perspective and the Recovery model in treatment planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA.
• Current Division 1 nursing practising certificate.
• Eligibility for Authorised Mental Health Practitioner status under the Mental Health Act 2016 (highly desirable).
• Ability to mentor less‑experienced staff and supervise nursing students in adult mental health.
