Cleaning Services Assistant - Aged Care

About the role

Mitchell House Aged Care in Morwell, Victoria, is looking for casual Cleaning Services Assistants. The role helps create a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents, visitors and staff, in line with Respect Aged Care's purpose of caring for older people with dignity and respect.

Key responsibilities

• Provide cleaning services according to established cleaning schedules.
• Mop, vacuum, polish floors, clean carpets, dust, manage waste and restock supplies.
• Assist with laundry duties as required.
• Keep accurate records of completed cleaning tasks.
• Store cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and follow infection prevention and control practices.
• Make sure cleaning equipment does not block exits or walkways.
• Carry out other duties within your skills and experience as directed.

Required profile

• Previous cleaning experience or relevant training.
• Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain one).
• Current Australian driver's licence.
• Previous experience in residential aged care is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Candidates must meet the Aged Care Worker Screening legislative requirements.

Required skills

• Safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Understanding of infection control principles and workplace safety practices.
